Washington, D.C.-based Solidcore fitness studio is opening its first Baltimore location inside the 1405 Point apartment tower under construction in Harbor Point.

The gym offers 50-minute classes to members on a specially made workout machine.

The chain already has locations in Maryland, including Bethesda and Annapolis. It currently has 25 locations across the country, and also has plans to open in Chicago, Miami and Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Offering a nightclub-like atmosphere, Solidcore says it is inviting to beginners and experts alike who want to “target slow twitch muscles in order to create a stronger, leaner body.”

The 2,400-square-foot gym is expected to open by the end of this year.

Customers can purchase “packs” of classes: five for $175, 10 for $330, 20 for $640 and 40 for $1,160. New clients can pay $19 for their first class, and each single class after that costs $37.

Anne Mahlum, the founder and CEO of Solidcore, said she had been looking at Baltimore for expansion for “quite some time,” and that Harbor Point offered the perfect fit for a new location.

The 1405 Point project will include 289 apartments, a rooftop pool and additional retail space.

The building is a part of Beatty’s 27-acre Harbor Point development. The waterfront project, between Harbor East and Fells Point, is located on the site of a former Allied Signal chromium plant.
