The Donohoe Companies announced Thursday it has secured a $60 million construction loan and is prepared to start construction on the second Gallery Bethesda building in Woodmont Triangle.

Donohoe spokesperson Kelley Darling said construction will “begin very soon,” but an exact date has not been set. The 17-story building is expected to be completed in fall 2018, according to Donohoe.

The building will consist of 219 residential units, 12,400 square feet of ground floor retail, a rooftop pool and sky lounge, an outdoor kitchen and a fitness center. It will share the public pedestrian plaza between Del Ray and Auburn avenues built during construction of the first Gallery Bethesda building, which was completed in 2014. The new building will be built next door to the existing Gallery building on a triangular lot between Auburn, Rugby and Del Ray avenues.

The project is a partnership between Donohoe and MPM Investment Company. Pacific Life Insurance Company provided financing.
