La Madeleine at Pike & Rose Closes

by | Aug 31, 2017

La Madeleine at Pike & Rose closed on Saturday, according to a sign on the front door of the restaurant on Old Georgetown Road in North Bethesda.

“Au revoir, our last day of business will be August 26th,” the sign says. “…Merci for being one of our loyal guests at our Pike & Rose bakery.

The fast-casual French cafe opened in 2015 when the first phase of the Pike & Rose development was completed. Before that, the restaurant had operated for years in the former Mid Pike Plaza, now the location of Pike & Rose.

The La Madeleine in Silver Spring closed in April.

A manager at the La Madeleine in downtown Bethesda said there are no plans to shut that location.

In a statement, Jill McCarthy, marketing director at Pike & Rose, said: “We are disappointed to learn that La Madeleine has decided to close multiple locations, including the one at Pike & Rose. With many new openings and experiences, we are looking forward to the rest of 2017 and 2018 and the forthcoming announcement of new restaurants and shops that will join the neighborhood, as it continues to evolve.”
