New Pike & Rose Store Will Serve Craft Ice Cream Sandwiches

by | Nov 3, 2017

Move over Thai rolled ice creamand raw cookie dough; a new dessert trend is coming to town.

The Baked Bear, a shop selling craft ice cream sandwiches, is opening next spring in Pike & Rose, according to the development.

The San Diego-based chain offers ice cream between fresh cookies, brownies or donuts or a combination of them. Then the sandwich is hot pressed and served warm.

The all-natural ice cream comes in flavors such as vanilla, mint chip, rocky road or salted caramel fudge. Baked Bear’s cookies include chocolate chip, snickerdoodle, white chocolate macadamia nut and red velvet. Sandwiches also come with a selection of optional toppings.

Baked Bear also sells sundaes, floats and individual cookies and ice cream desserts.

The Pike & Rose location, at 929 Rose Ave., will be The Baked Bear’s first on the East Coast. The chain has about 20 locations out West, mostly in California.

Baked Bear will join Tutti Frutti Frozen Yogurt as another dessert option at the North Bethesda development. Restaurants such as Nando’s, Taylor Gourmet, ramen restaurant Jinya and taco and cocktail joint Nada are set to open in Pike & Rose next year.
