Own a Piece of History at One of Washington DC’s Most Distinguished Addresses

by | Oct 27, 2017

There are some buildings in the city that every Washingtonian recognizes. The National Building Museum, the Old Post Office and the Old Stone House are among them. Wardman Tower, an architectural icon at a coveted Connecticut Avenue address and one of the jewels of prolific developer Harry Wardman, is also one of those buildings.

Built in 1928, the historic Wardman Tower was home to some of the city’s most famous figures during the 20th century, including three presidents. Now, it has been reimagined as 32 of the most luxurious condos in the city.

While the tower’s exterior was restored, the interiors were completely remodeled and redesigned by New York architecture firm Deborah Berke Partners, known for creating distinctive spaces with lasting character. The new two-, three- and four-bedroom condos, ranging from 2,500 to 4,600 square feet, combine the traditional aspects of the building’s exterior with Parisian design elements and contemporary functionality. The resulting spaces are both sumptuous and simple. Prices start at $2.9M, and the building is 50 percent sold out.

All of the residences at Wardman Tower open to long, grand entrance galleries. Inside, finishes include wide-plank hardwood flooring, pocket doors, custom crown molding and solid-wood doors, custom Henrybuilt cabinetry, Danby marble countertops in master bathrooms, PentalQuartz kitchen countertops and radiant heated floors in some bathrooms. All decorative features were selected by Deborah Berke Partners and Dot Dash Lighting Designers.

Floorplans are classically designed and many residences feature large terraces and balconies. All of the homes have panoramic views of downtown and northern DC, the monuments, the National Cathedral and the Virginia skyline.

Wardman Tower offers residents a full suite of high-end amenities. In addition to a doorman, valet parking and porter services, the building has a well-appointed fitness room and two clubrooms, as well as concierge services. All of the residences come with two parking spaces, and there are 3.3 acres of landscaped grounds by Michael Vergason Landscape Architects.
