Taco and Cocktail Restaurant Coming to Pike & Rose

by | Oct 9, 2017

A restaurant coming to Pike & Rose focuses on two things it does best: tacos and cocktails.

“Nada keeps it simple,” Michael Palmer, the marketing and creative director for the restaurant, said Thursday. “That’s what we’re trying to be: simple and fun, easy to engage with no matter what your taste buds are.”

Nada, a chain, will open a restaurant in Pike & Rose at 11886 Grand Park Ave. Palmer said it would open late in the summer of 2018.

Filling a 6,300-square-foot space with a brick-and-steel design, Nada will have 140 seats in a dining room that surrounds an open kitchen. An outdoor patio will seat 50 more.

Palmer described the restaurant as “high energy” and like “jumping into a party.” He said there also will be quieter seats tucked away, so diners can choose their preference.

Nada’s tacos include classics such as al pastor and carnitas, Palmer said, as well as recipes “pushing on the inventive side,” such as fried oyster, mu shu pork belly and caramelized cauliflower.

Tacos are made to be ordered for the table to share, he said.

On the drink side, Nada will offer seasonal cocktails, margaritas and local craft beer, according to a press release. Palmer said the restaurant has several margarita options and tequila- and mescal-based drinks.

Pike & Rose is a 24-acre development in North Bethesda with a slew of retail stores and restaurants set to open in the next year. Taylor Gourmet and Nando’s Peri Periare expected to open in early 2018.

Nada will be the development’s “first modern Mexican concept” restaurant. There also is a Chipotle.

The North Bethesda location will be the first Mid-Atlantic restaurant for the Cincinnati-based chain, which first opened in 2007.

Nada will serve lunch and dinner daily, as well as weekend brunch.
