$400M in Grants Approved for The Blue Line Project

Prince George’s county has approved $400 million in grants to begin design and construction on The Blue Line Project.  Included in the project are an amphitheater, recreation and cultural centers, and youth sports facilities for residents from Largo to the D.C. line.  Supporters say that the project will preserve and expand affordable housing, and fund a new cancer center.  Some believe that this project will convince the Commanders Football Team to build a new stadium near the current FedEx Field, however, if the new owner decides to move the team back to D.C., the county will continue to thrive with the addition of The Blue Line Project.

The $400 million dollar was originally approved by former Maryland Governor Larry Hogan but the Board of Public Works approval means that the project can now enter the next phase.
