COVID-19 Related Home Trends That Are Here to Stay

by | Nov 30, 2020

2020 has been far from a normal year and the pandemic has affected everything, including the housing and real estate market. One of the biggest changes the real estate market has experienced since COVID-19 is the movement of people leaving the crowded cities and going to the suburbs due to not feeling comfortable in tight spaces and being around lots of people. Families are moving where they can have more space to social distance. In addition, with many companies allowing employees to work from home it allows renters and homeowners to move if they would like to since they are not required to be in the office.

Another big trend in the housing market is the creation of a “zoom room” for virtual meetings. Agents are including this in their listings and it’s taking off. Buyers are now seeking homes with an extra work space for a home and zoom office. Buyers are also seeking homes with a clean and cozy layout.  With spending so much time at home it’s important for buyers to have a home that is clean and comfortable.

The housing market expects these trends and designs to keep evolving over the next year as we continue to deal with the pandemic.
