Housing Demands Remain High to Start 2022

by | Dec 20, 2021

Although home sales are down 5.8% compared to this time last year, the market is still going strong.  According to Danielle Hale, chief economist at Realtor.com, a “large number of Americans who are at the prime age to purchase a first home and remote-working opportunities that allow those buyers to consider a wider array of markets.”  There is the potential of more newly-listed homes coming at the start of the year and more that will enter the market within the next six months.

Previously high prices and low inventories have impacted seeking home-buyers because of affordability.  The number of houses entering the market has gradually rose over the last few months and the median price of existing homes has declined month-to-month.
