The Lauren Luxury Condos Top OutNearly half of the “estate quality” units in Bethesda are under contract, according to the developers

The Lauren condo building under construction near Bethesda Row reached its height Monday, the developers announced.

The “topping out” is a key milestone in the ultra-luxury condo project that first announced its presence in downtown Bethesda with a sign on Woodmont Avenue offering “Homes from the several millions.”

The developers 1788 Holdings and Persimmon Capital Partners announced this week that 13 of the 29 “estate quality” residences are under contract. The developers plan to complete the seven-story project in early spring 2016. The building is at the intersection of Hampden Lane and Woodmont Avenue.

The Lauren’s lavish features include an in-house sommelier, a penthouse priced at $10.5 million, fully equipped catering kitchens and private elevators to 70 percent of the units.

The estate quality units range from 2,500 to 6,000 square feet and start around $1.5 million each, according to The Lauren’s website. Those units include amenities such as custom cabinetry, vented fireplaces and home automation systems that use iPads to control electronics, thermostats and shades.

The building also has five guest suites for sale and six moderately priced units, which the developers plan to sell in the future.
