If you’re looking to sell your home in the fall, it could be a great time to do it!  Those who are on the hunt for their new home during pumpkin season, while there might not be as many searching, are usually ones that are serious because they either have to move or want to get settled before the holidays.

To get her home ready for showings and for selling, prepare the outside by cleaning the gutters, cleaning up fallen leaves, and adding some autumn plants or decorations.  For the interior, play on the coziness of the cooler days by adding some seasonal accents, rearranging furniture to make conversation easier and turn on your fireplace during showings.  With shorter days of natural light, add some extra lighting to your home as well.  It’s also a good idea to inspect and repair major systems that would be included on a home inspection.

Once your home is ready, hire a professional agent and have them take photos as early in the season as possible.  That way you can take advantage of natural light and not have to worry about an abundance of leaves getting in the way later in the fall.  Since the fall market tends to have serious buyers, move quickly; It’s much easier to sell your home in the fall than in December or January.  And price your property to sell by looking at neighborhood comps.  Your agent can assist you in finding the right home price to list your property at.
